Erba LAURA is a semi-automated urine strip analyzer designed to provide objective, standardized, and high-quality evaluation of urine samples in clinical laboratories. It eliminates subjective interpretation of test strip color reactions by using automated photometric measurement, ensuring consistent and reliable diagnostic results.

The system supports a wide range of diagnostic parameters including pH, protein, glucose, ketones, bilirubin, urobilinogen, blood, specific gravity, nitrites, and leukocytes using PHAN diagnostic strips. It automatically recognizes the type of strip inserted and compensates for urine color variations using a dedicated compensation field, improving accuracy.

LAURA features automatic incubation, measurement, and evaluation of strips, enabling efficient workflow with minimal manual intervention. It allows flexible sample identification through manual entry or barcode scanning and provides rapid result printing through an integrated thermal printer.
